For discussing your Joomla content articles on designated SMF boards. These discussions can be displayed in the content article.

Important note - this may cause layout issues! If so, please use the beta 5 version!!

So far this version has only been tested with Joomla 1.0.X, and Orstio's version 3.19 bridge (though it seems to work with 1.1.X (aka 3.20)). There has been mixed success with the joomlhacks.com bridge, but you can also go to http://www.joomlahacks.com/ for Cowboy's version. He's working on an enhanced version like this.

Install the same as any mambot, through the Administration mambot installer.

To upgrade from a previous version, the easiest way is to just upload the files in to your /mambots/content directory, overwriting the previous ones. Then go in to the mambot properties in Administration, and save the settings.

This beta version adds:

• Fixed a PHP notice.
• Added ability to have a seperate description if there is only 1 comment (so you can have singular and plural descriptions).

4.1 beta 6:

• Ability to send the output through SMF's BBC code parser (turn on or off in the mambot parameters), so that BBC code will look the same as in SMF (using the same settings), URL's can be auto-linked, images will come through, etc.
• The "long words" fix has been changed, so that it uses the same code that SMF uses (and the function name has been changed to prevent conflicts with akoComment). Speaking of which, long words will be maniuplated once by the BBC parsing using SMF settings, then again using the discussbot's code This is for two reasons - so that you can have the long words fix even if you do not have BBC enabled, and so that you can have it set shorter in the mambot, since you may have less space to work with in the content area.
• Reversed the way the discussbot image was pointing.

4.1 beta 5:

• Fixed a few minor errors (missing variable declarations). Should prevents some errors in your error log.
• Fixed problem with no default board declared.

4.1 beta 4:

• Ability to display Real Name instead of Username in discussion posts.
• Ability to disable discussion link from front page.
• Ability to have discussion link bring you to starting a reply in the forums, instead of to just viewing the forum post. This can be set for just the first post, or always.
• Custom text for if there aren't any posts.
• Ability to include date and time on posts.
• Name on posts now links to users profile.
• Ability to split excessively large words to preserve page formatting.
• Much prettier.
• Ability to use custom CSS classes to change formatting of forum posts.
• Various little code cleanups.

4.1 beta 3:

• Ability to turn off quick reply box for guests (turned off by default).
• Removed some problem tags.

4.1 beta 2:

• Ability to turn off the icon linking to the discussion.
• Ability to turn off viewing the discusion links on the front page. (note - this doesn't affect the {mos_smf_discuss:no_discuss} tag.)
• Fixes the inability to unpublish the bot.
• Fixes problems some were having parsing jpg files.
• Hopefully fixes problems with the bot working for some.

Topic discussion underneath article:

• Removes URL and quote from original post (or entire post if that's all it has).
• Adds headers for discussions and quick reply.
• Adds ability to have a link to the forum discussion, and a quick reply box.
• Adds an option for max number of posts it will display underneath the article, with a link to the forum discussion if truncated.
• New discuss picture and cleaned up postings.
