Most manufacturers offer student discounts on software, computers, and other hardware.  These will often be decent deals off standard pricing.  Look for links that say Education, Schools, etc.  Some times these will look like they are links for only schools to purchase, but even so, they will often contain areas for students to purchase at a discount.

Another place to check with would be your school.  Check their web site, or ask someone from the school if you can get student discounts.  For instance, at The Art Institutes, our main suppliers have set up special web sites for students to get discounts on hardware here or software here.
